My First Vegas Trip
It wasn’t until I was a seasoned solo traveler, that I choose to embark on a first-time visit to the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas.
My first visit to Las Vegas was in early 2022, as I chose to put one foot in front of another, then hop on a plane with a backpack and fly into this sparkling city for the first time.
I had a great time and enjoyed the city more than I thought I would, however, I believe the city has a bad rap, for several reasons.
Before I visited Vegas, I had a notion that the crime was horrible, that I shouldn’t go alone, that men are all after one thing there, that I would be targeted, and that it would be just a poor decision.
I attempted to try it. I must be on some marketing list, but I was offered to stay in a resort fully paid for, for 2–3 days, and tour a timeshare in exchange. I took them up on it, and that was my first experience.
I felt safe in the resort, I felt safe navigating the Las Vegas strip. I felt comfortable with the surroundings and positioned myself as I always do when I travel to make the smartest moves possible without jeopardizing my safety.
Now, the city does have crime, as it is recommended that a tourist stay on the strip, and not venture off of it too far.

My Second Trip to Las Vegas
My first visit went so well, I decided to visit this fascinating city in November 2022. On this trip, I felt more confident with how to navigate the city as a solo female traveler.
Again, I must be on a marketing list, because I was offered another tour, to a different resort, with a paid trip, if I only attend a timeshare presentation. I said yes, agreed to it, and this was the reason for my second trip to Las Vegas. I was able to pick a resort from a list and selected MGM Grand. I will do a review of my stay in this resort soon.
This trip I felt the same amount of comfort with walking the Las Vegas Strip and attending all the events or shows I wanted to. Not once did I feel I was in danger.
This most recent trip was in the fall, of 2022. I was able to not only walk more of the strip, but I even went far up north to the famous, Fremont Street, Las Vegas. I am so glad I took the Uber, to this must-see street.
Walking as a tourist and especially a solo female, it’s imperative to be alert, cautious, and diligent in evaluating perceived risk while traveling. By following some established guidelines you can travel as safely as possible in Las Vegas, minimizing your risk for danger.
